Ronald Ellroy Ney Jr.

Ronald Ellroy Ney Jr., PH. D., Real Estate Broker, Author, Educator, and retired government official, has passed away on August 10,2026. He was the son of Dr. Ronald E. Ney and Evelyn Ash Ney of Harrisonburg, VA.

Dr. Ney, a resident of Lake County Florida, was born on July 4, 1936 in Harrisonburg, VA. He was married to his love of his life Lenny Sue McClure of Glasgow, VA for 60 Years. He attended James Madison University and Pacific Western University, as well as many others.

After retirement from the EPA, Dr. Ney became a Real Estate Broker and formed the Environmental Realty Consulting Service, Inc. He was a consultant specializing in real estate and chemicals in realty. He also was an adjunct instructor at Northern Virginia Community College, teaching General College Chemistry, topics on Environmental Issues, Environmental Risk in Real Estate Transaction and Real Estate Appraisal.

Dr. Ney has published several books on topics relating to, (Where did that Chemical go?, Your guide to safety, Fate and Transport of Organic Chemicals in the Environment, and Chemical" What you need to know). These books were written to help the reader to determine chemical exposure and to protect oneself from such exposure. Dr. Ney had a desire to protect humans from unneeded exposure to toxic chemicals.

Dr. Ney was given the Certificate of Achievement for his contributions in the physical and biological sciences, and entered into the 16th edition of American Men and Women of Science, in January, 1987. In 1994-1995, Dr. Ney was included in the Marquis, Who's who in Science and Engineering, The Marquis, Who's who in America. In 1996 Dr.Ney was entered into the Gale Research book of Contemporary Authors and; In 1997 was entered into the 15th edition of the International Authors and Writers Who's who, located in Cambridge, England. He also served on the Lake County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

He was survived by his two children, Ronald E. Ney III (Patti) of Leesburg, Fl, and Dorothy Ney MacIntyre (James) of Dallas, TX, and his four grandchildren, Ronald E. Ney IV (Lisa), James Dillon MacIntyre, Sean Cedric MacIntyre (Rachel), and Hannah Sue MacIntyre, and his two great grandchildren, Kaylee Ney and Ronald Ney V.
